One of the perks of living in Broome County is our parks, we have so many places to choose from. I'm talking about their trails, lakes, playgrounds, and beaches (yes, actual beaches).

Otsiningo Park, The Go To for Everything

If you live in Broome County, you’ve probably been to Otsiningo Park. Whether it's their incredible playground, walking trails, sand volleyball, Broome Bands Together Free Concert Series, or Spiedie Fest, It’s the perfect spot for a jog, a picnic, or letting the kids run wild. We also can't forget the farmers market in warmer months.

Nathaniel Cole Park, Your Summer Hangout Spot

When the sun’s out and you're craving a local beach day, Cole Park delivers. With its sandy swimming area, and boat rentals, it's like a mini getaway without leaving the county. Bring snacks, sunscreen, and your favorite floatie because you’re going to want to stay a while.

Greenwood Park, The Hidden Gem of the Woods

This one feels like stepping into a little slice of the Adirondacks without the long drive. Greenwood Park is underrated. It’s great for hikers, campers, and winter sports lovers. They also have cross-country skiing trails when there’s snow.

Chenango Valley State Park, Not a County Park, But Worth the Mention

This one’s technically a state park, but Chenango Valley State Park is too good not to include. Just a short drive from anywhere in Broome County, this place is for the nature lover. They’ve got hiking, swimming, golfing, and cabin rentals. It’s great for a weekend trip or a casual day hike.

Roundtop Picnic Area, Small but Mighty

Roundtop doesn’t get as much attention, but it should. It’s perfect for when you want somewhere low-key with a great view. Great spot for a barbecue or just sitting on a blanket to get away from the world for a bit. Sometimes less is more and Roundtop proves it.

Dorchester Park, Kayaks, Ice Cream, and Fun

Whether you’re into kayaking, paddle boarding, or just hanging out by the water, Dorchester’s got you covered. There’s a rental shack, lots of shade, and usually an ice cream truck nearby if you time it right. It’s family-friendly and an all around happy place.

Aqua-Terra Wilderness Area, Where Things Get a Little Wild

This one’s for people who like to explore. With hiking trails that feel more off-the-beaten-path, Aqua-Terra is quiet, and packed with nature. You might spot deer, birds, or even a fox. It’s a great way to unplug for a bit.
