Who says blondes have more fun? Tanya Tucker recently dyed her hair pink — and from the looks of it, she's enjoying life plenty these days.

Tucker shared her new 'do on Instagram on Wednesday (Jan. 16), captioning the post "#pinkhairdontcare" and adding "rock on" and hearts emojis for good measure. Her hair is still short — about chin length—- but it's gone from blonde to bubblegum pink, with a couple chunks of lighter pink to frame her face.

Tucker's publicist tells Taste of Country that the country singer chose to dye her hair pink to show her support for a friend who is battling breast cancer, though it's not clear when Tucker had the dye job done. Based on her previous Instagram posts, however, it happened sometime between Jan. 9 and Jan. 14, when she posted a collage of photos in which her newly dyed hair is barely visible under a ballcap.

Other Stars' Dramatic Hair Makeovers:

Discovered by country artist Mel Tillis in the 1960s, Tucker earned her first hit as a singer herself, "Delta Dawn," in 1972, when she was 13 years old. A CMA and ACM Awards winner, and a Grammy Awards nominee, Tucker found chart success in the '70s, '80s and '90s, notching 10 No. 1 singles.

Tucker's most recent album, My Turn, was released in 2009, but she hints in an Instagram post from early January that she is working on new music. On Jan. 9, the singer shared photos of herself in the recording studio, captioning them "New year. New album!!"

Tucker has a handful of tour dates on her calendar in early 2019 as well. Visit TanyaTucker.com for more details.
