Upstate New York University Enrolls Largest Class in 111 Year History
The fall semester is about to get underway for many college students, and for many it's one step closer to realizing their dreams. The anticipation can be felt everywhere for New York students.
The excitement is really filling the air at SUNY Delhi as the campus welcomed a groundbreaking number of new students. This semester, 1,400 new students are calling Delhi their university and that is their largest incoming class in the institution's 111-year history.
"SUNY Delhi is thrilled to witness the continued upward trend in enrollment this fall, culminating in this record-breaking class of students," expressed President Mary Bonderoff.
Hands on learning and degrees that are relevant to them are attracting more and more students as their career goals align with that of New York State.
President Bonderoff emphasized the institution's commitment to delivering outstanding education that gets students ready for success. Bonderoff also hinted at future investments in cutting-edge programs to increase opportunities for their students.
The selection process for the incoming class was tough with almost 9,000 applicants all trying for a spot at SUNY Delhi. New students are coming in from 54 New York counties, 12 U.S. states, and four countries from around the world.
The majors that the students are interested in the most are nursing, veterinary science technology, electrical construction, and biology.
While the freshmen get settled, the returning students are preparing to move in, with classes beginning on Monday, August 28th. With the new class and returning students, the number of people who will be a part of the SUNY Delhi Bronco family will be over 3,000.
