Suing a New York Church After Crucifix Falls

I think it is crazy how lawyers advertise and give people ideas on how and when to sue.

According to the Associated Press, a man is suing a Hudson Valley, New York church after the crucifix he prayed to every day, toppled over and crushed his leg. 45 year old David Jimenez was cleaning the cross in gratitude for Jesus having cured his wife's cancer. When the cross landed on his legs, he claimed the church was "negligent" and is suing for $3 million dollars in damages.  Here's the think, his leg was amputated.

Losing a leg is serious.  But sue a church?  Accidents happen.  What would you do if this were you or if it involved a family member?
