A New York State Police trooper was hit by a tractor-trailer while working at a crash scene on Interstate 86.

Authorities say the incident happened around 9:05 a.m. Wednesday in the city of Corning.

According to state police, Trooper Jacob Wackowski was stationary, assisting with traffic control on I-86 eastbound.

Wackowski's troop vehicle was parked with its emergency lights activated when he was sideswiped by a passing truck.

Wackowski was treated at Corning Hospital for minor injuries.

Investigators say the tractor-trailer driver, 53-year-old Troy English of Buffalo, was issued a ticket for failure to obey the state's Move-Over Law. He also was cited for vehicle and traffic violations.

Police say warrants had been issued for English in North Carolina for identity theft and in Pennsylvania for violating a court order by not paying a fine.

English was arraigned in Corning city court and sent to Steuben County Jail on $500 bail.
