If you’re planning to join 98.1 The Hawk Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Spiedie Fest at Otsiningo Park, there are some things you need to know about parking and local traffic conditions.  Here’s the scoop:

Spiedie Fest Parking

Parking is NOT available at Otsiningo Park. Parking for Spiedie Fest is at Broome Community College (BCC) located on Front Street just north of Exit 5 off I-81.  You can also access BCC from Exit 6 off I-81.

The cost to park your car at BCC is $5 per vehicle and includes continual shuttle bus service from BCC to Otsiningo Park throughout the weekend on this schedule

Friday- 2pm-10:30pm

Saturday-8am-10:30 pm
Sunday- 8am- 10:30 pm

Handicapped parking is available at BCC.

If you’re not parking your car, you can still take the bus from BCC to the park.  That cost is $5 per group.

Parking is NOT included in your button/admission fee for Spiedie Fest and is an additional $5 charge.

Parking for morning balloon launches is available free of charge at Roosevelt School across the bridge within walking distance to the park.  There are no shuttle buses from this location.

Local Traffic Issues

Several local roads will encounter traffic delays due to Spiedie Fest including US Route 11 (Front Street) near Otsiningo Park.

The on ramp to Interstate 81 northbound from US Route 11 at Interchange 5 will be closed from 12pm on Friday August 2nd to 11am on Monday August 5th.  A signed detour will be in place to direct local traffic around the closure.

Also closed will be exit 4 off Interstate 81.  You’ll have to continue to exit 3 in Kirkwood and double back on Court Street.

Interstate 81 northbound may be accessed by traveling northbound on US Route 11 (Front Street) to interchange 6.  Southbound Front Street between Bevier Street and Prospect Street will have one lane of travel open to traffic.

Additional Info

Message boards will be placed on the major roads leading to Ostiningo Park on I-81  and I-88 (Westbound connector) advising that no stopping or parking will be allowed along the shoulders of these roads.

Also keep in mind, no parking will be available along Front and Bevier Streets. Parked vehicles within these areas will be towed.

Please keep an eye out and use extreme caution while traveling along Bevier Street due to pedestrian traffic.
