Unfortunately, I never got into snowmobiling as a child. Once in a while, I would drive one at my grandparent's farm, but I never went on a cross-country adventure. I have a few friends that snowmobile and the stories that they share are awesome. I feel like I've missed out on something special.

If you don't want to miss out, then the Cortland County Sheriff's Office may be able to help you. Their office is having a Snowmobile Safety Course on Saturday, November 2 at the Cortlandville Fire Stations at 999 State Route 13 in Cortland.

If you want to take this FREE course, YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER by calling Joyce Smith at the Cortland County Sheriff's Office at (607) 753-5396. Space is limited for this FREE one day course that begins at 8 a.m.

If you're between 10 and 18 years of age, you have to take the course and earn a safety certificate before you can lawfully operate a snowmobile alone in New York State.

The course is being offered locally by the Cortland County Sheriff's Office, No lunch will be provided but there will be a lunch break given. Go here if you have any questions or concerns.
