A Farewell to Binghamton New York’s South City Publick House
As the calendar turned over to a new year, it was with a mix of sadness and gratitude that Suzanne and John Clark bid farewell to their beloved Binghamton establishment, South City Publick House.
After a decade of being at 1200 Vestal Avenue in the Kunkle building, the couple made the bittersweet decision to close their doors and embark on a new chapter in their lives.
Expressing Gratitude
In a heartfelt message on social media to their friends, neighbors, and patrons, Suzanne and John Clark extended their sincerest thanks to all those who supported them throughout their journey. They acknowledged the loyal customers who have become part of their extended family, as well as the dedicated staff who helped create memorable experiences for everyone who walked through the doors.
Reflecting on the Journey
Starting their tenure as South Side Yanni's and later transforming into South City Publick House gastropub proprietors, the Clarks took pride in their role as local business owners and noted in their social media post that their journey was full of highs and lows, but with the support of their children and the community, they persevered for a decade.
A Fond Farewell and Well Wishes
In bidding farewell, Suzanne and John Clark extended their warmest wishes to their friend and business partner, Rich David, who is embarking on a new venture, Stadium 138 in downtown Binghamton. They also shared their hopes for success with the restauranteurs who will be taking over South City Publick House, trusting that their unique vision will carry on the legacy of the beloved local joint.
Looking Towards the Future
As they step away from the restaurant business, Suzanne and John Clark are enthusiastic about focusing on their health, family, and overall well-being. While John plans to continue his culinary endeavors through Terra Cotta Catering, Suzanne intends to share her health journey and advocate for the power of positivity and survival against all odds through public speaking engagements.
