Registration Starts Soon for Broome “Toys for Tots” Program
The "Toys for Tots" program supported by Binghamton area law enforcement agencies is preparing to help families again during the upcoming holiday season.
The initiative provides holiday gifts for children in Broome County. City police officer Chris Marshall, the program manager, says registration will get underway later this month.
The Toys for Tots program will operate in the space previously occupied by the Macy's store at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City.
Donations may be made at the headquarters from November 30 through December 21. Drop-off barrels for toys are located at police departments in Binghamton, Johnson City, Endicott and Vestal, as well as at the Broome County Sheriff's Office. Barrels also will be set up at various other sites.
The office at the mall will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. It also is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
Registration for children to receive toys will start at the end of the month and continue through December 12.
