There's a new 'blue' and it's not from Canada!  In the very near future, you may be sitting with friends and family at a get together and if you opt for a glass of wine, don't be too surprised that your choice could be a red, white or a blue.  Yes, blue wine is a real.

According to ThrillList.com, the wine originates from Spain and is a attention-getting electric blue color and is slightly sweet to the taste.  The price isn't bad either.  A 750 ml bottle will cost about eleven bucks.

"The wine's the result of two years of research conducted in a collaboration between Gik, University of the Basque Country, and Food Tech. Grapes come from vineyards in La Rioja, Zaragoza, León, and Castilla-La Mancha, Spain."

As soon as I heard the news, I immediately called liquor stores in the Binghamton area.  I thought it would be the perfect surprise for my friends going to a 4th of July party in the coming weeks.  But the bad news is, nobody has even heard of it yet.  Eater reports it may not be available in the US until late fall, but it is available on their website.
