Binghamton police have arrested a man after a report of shots fired at an apartment complex.

Authorities say 46-year-old Eric Jones was found at a Clinton Street residence early Friday afternoon. He was taken into custody without incident.

Police were sent to Town & Country Apartments off Roberts Street on the North Side around 8:30 a.m. Friday.

People in the area reported hearing multiple gunshots. A woman who lives in the complex said she heard two or three shots.

Police searched an area outside Building 20 in the apartment complex but found no bullet casings.

Detectives were questioning Jones in connection with the shooting. The gun believed to have been used has been recovered.

Captain Cory Minor said Jones is expected to be charged in the case. He said the investigation is continuing and he didn't know whether additional arrests may be made.
