Well, that settles that. Based on the 2014 wedding trends, I guess this is the year I’ll have to find Mr. Right and get married.

I kid about a quicky wedding, but it’s interesting to see what The Knot says will be the popular wedding trends coming down the aisle in 2014 because most all of the trends are ones that I’ve wanted to do if I ever were to get married.

Whether you’re getting getting married this year, or going to a friend or family member’s wedding, you can expect to see weddings with a woodsy, rustic theme (yes, please!) as well as photo booths (double yes!), 90s music and entertainment (that’s what I’m talking about!) and all-nighter weddings that keep the party going long after the reception ends.

I love this new trend- tech-savvy couples are expected to encourage guests to snap pics and use custom Instagram hashtags, providing phone-charging stations to ensure everyone’s batteries are fully charged. Think about it- your guests will be able to capture moments your photographer can’t and you’ll be able to see the pictures instantly. On the opposite end of the spectrum, other brides and grooms will shun social media entirely, requesting guests check their smartphones at the door.

What’s the one 2014 wedding trend I can’t believe is taking off? Internet-friendly proposals. That’s right- 15% of women said they’d prefer to be proposed to via tech device! Of them, 40% hope their partner will pop the question on social media. On the other hand, fewer than 10% want to be proposed to through song, dance or poem.
