All other districts in the Southern Tier passed their spending plans, even those with tax levy increases that edged near or above the 2% cap.

Proposals for special spending, like the purchase of school buses as well as setting up library districts were also approved.

In the Chenango Forks School District, voters approved putting in a new swimming pool addition at the high school as well as upgrades to other school and athletic facilities at a cost of $28,550,000 dollars.  The capital improvement proposal passed in a vote of 460 to 191.

In school board races, Chenango Forks had a write-in candidate garnering the majority of votes.  Lynn Lockwood’s name was written in for 373 votes to Brian Rullo’s 155 votes and Kenneth Starr’s 124.
