Not surprisingly, around two thirds of Americans say they’re into sports. That’s a lot of people who love cheering on their teams. But how many people can actually afford going to a big-league game without their wallet crying?

New York’s Up There in the Pricey Club

After checking out all the costs for going to games across the country, New York came in at number three for most expensive state to catch a live game. On average, it costs about $537 for a full day of fun from your ticket to parking, snacks, and a team hat.

Why So Much? It’s Everything Adding Up

It’s not just the tickets that hit hard. Parking, a drink, a hot dog, and the cheapest team merch all add up fast. Whether you’re rooting for the Knicks, the Yankees, or the Giants, be ready to drop some serious cash if you want the full experience.

Who’s Even More Expensive?

Nevada takes the top spot at over $770 a game, with Massachusetts coming in just ahead of New York. After that, Washington and Illinois round out the top five pricier spots.

Is It Worth It? That’s Up to You

Five hundred bucks for a day at the game sounds crazy. So why be there in person? It is hard to beat the energy and camaraderie that you feel while cheering on your favorite team. But, if you’re like most people, you probably will just watch from your couch and cheer with your snacks at home instead.
