New Yorkers: Life of the Party or Homebodies?
Have you ever wondered if New York residents are party animals or early birds that want to hit the sack? The people at NapLab went digging to find out. They wanted to see just how much juice New Yorkers have in their social battery and what their social habits are really look like.
Are You a Social Butterfly or a Homebody?
Do you live for constant socializing or prefer staying in at night? Your social battery, which decides how much socializing you can handle before needing a recharge, can really influence your social scene. The crew at NapLab found that New Yorkers are pretty average in this department, landing at #10 out of 44 states with a charge of just over 60%.
Breaking it Down
To figure out where everyone stands, NapLab got the lowdown from more than 2,200 people from all over the place. They asked 13 things including social stuff, how introverted they are, and their canceling skills.

Surprisingly, New Yorkers aren't big on lies when it comes to changing plans – about one-third of their excuses on bailing are straight-up truthful.
Party Animals or Early Birds? You Decide!
From the heart of the party to the ones sneaking out early, the social battery study gives us an interesting look into how people in different states handle their social scenes. Next time you're in the Empire State, keep in mind that your fellow New Yorkers are probably juggling their social lives with just the right mix of energy and realness.
