Where New York Ranked Among the States
When they compared states, New York ranked fifth for bringing home the medals. The state tied with Massachusetts and Illinois, each contributing five medalists to Team USA’s success.
Minnesota led the list with 12 medalists, followed by Michigan and California, which each produced nine. Even so, New York’s athletes stood out because every medal tied to the state was gold.
