New Yorkers Are Basically the Kings and Queens of Impulse
New York just scored #1 for being the most impulsive state in the whole country. Does that really surprise you? Me neither...but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing, does it. If you are the kind of person that would book a last minute trip or grab an extra slice of pizza without thinking twice, congrats you’re officially representing the Empire State.
Last-Minute Flights?
New York is number two when it comes to searching for last-minute flights. That means many people here are thinking, “Hey, why not? Let’s go somewhere this weekend!” Can’t say I blame them.
Swiping That Card Like It’s Nobody’s Business
Unfortuanetly, We also rank pretty high when it comes to credit card debt, which kind of makes sense given all those spontaneous buys from late night online shopping sprees to saying “yes” to one more round during happy hour.
We Like It Wild
If you’re into skydiving, bungee jumping, or anything that gets your heart racing, you’re in good company. New Yorkers search for these thrill-seeking activities a lot, ranking ninth in the country.
Who’s Close Behind?
So who else is in the "race" with New York? Congratulations to California, Georgia, Texas, and Pennsylvania because you are all up there too. However, New York is way ahead of them because we are basically the “let’s do it now” state.
So What?
Being impulsive isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes the best memories come from those “what the heck, let’s do it” moments. I had a friend and his wife decide at the last minute to go to a concert and they told me that they are so glad they did. It was night that they won't ever forget.
