I know.  How dare I bring up Christmas in the middle of September.  Please forgive me if I offend you in any way but there are a bunch of country Christmas albums that are about to come out or will coming out very soon.

Here's what the Hawk is most excited about in Christmas tunes:

  • Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood -  This has been a long time in the making and it's probably the most-talked about Christmas album of the year.  Having seen these two this past summer at Yankee Stadium, I am very excited to pick this one up as I expect it to be pure magic.
  • Brett Eldredge -  Brett is an amazing talent who has been hard at work on his very first Christmas album.  The album is said to be in "big band" style as he pays tribute to some of his crooning heroes including Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and Bing Crosby.  This one is sure to be timeless.
  • Reba McEntire - 'My Kind of Christmas' is Reba's third Christmas album. Fans are already picking it up and Cracker Barrel is offering a few extra tracks, available only in their Old Country Store.
  • Chris Young - His version of 'O Holy Night' is second only to Martina McBride's version. Expect the new Chris Young Christmas album to be amazing.
  • Rascal Flatts - It's hard to believe this trio has never had a Christmas album out.  This is the year and are we ever excited to hear those harmonies sing Christmas.

While release dates differ from retailer to retailer, most of these new albums should be out by Halloween.
