Misspelling Scammers Threaten Southern Tier Residents

Scammers have cast such a wide net even personnel in the Broome County District Attorney’s office say they’ve gotten the emails which try to gather personal information or hack into a person’s computer system.
Residents are advised to NOT click on any links in the email.
One of those links is so the intended victim can explain their absence, spelled: “abscence.”
