State Police: Missing Upstate New York Girl Found Alive
OCTOBER 2, 2023, 7:00 P.M.: New York State Police report that the AMBER Alert for Charlotte Sena has been canceled as the missing girl has been found alive and in good health. State Police report that a suspect is in custody.
Governor Kathy Hochul said in a statement,
“We are overjoyed at the news that Charlotte Sena has been located safely this evening after an intense days-long search. Our hearts are with her family as they welcome her home."
OCTOBER 2, 2023, 5:00 A.M.: New York State Police updated their description of 9-year-old Charlotte Sena, who has been missing since Saturday, September 30, stating that she is 9 years 1-month-old with long, blonde hair. Sena is 4 feet 6 inches tall, with green eyes, and weighs about 90 pounds.
In a press conference, New York State Police Lieutenant Colonel Richard Mazzone stated that Sena was last seen at 6:15 p.m.
"Following our exhaustive search of the park, we took that step of issuing the Amber Alert because we felt after that exhaustive search when we couldn't find her here, it was quite possible that an abduction had taken place."
When asked by reporters why it took so many hours to activate an AMBER Alert, Lt. Colonel Richard Mazzone said,
“At approximately 6:45 p.m., Charlotte’s bike was located in Loop A, and at 6:47 p.m. Charlotte’s mom, Trisha, called 911 to report the child missing.”
Governor Kathy Hochul made a trip to Moreau Lake State Park on Sunday to get briefed by authorities on the possible abduction of Sena. Sena has been logged with the Department of Criminal Justice Services as a missing child.
Hochul assured the family of Sena that everything possible was being done to find Sena who was enjoying a family outing on Saturday evening when she decided to make one last loop around their picnic field on her bike but never came back.
"We are leaving no stone, no branch, no table, no cabin unturned, untouched, unexamined in our search to find Charlotte. We'll keep the members of the public updated. I promised her parents we'd find their daughter. She's all of our daughters, their family needs love, they need prayers."
Moreau Lake State Park shared a post to Facebook stating that the park is closed until further notice and asked that visitors not come to the park as the search continues for Sena.
OCTOBER 1, 2023, 10:00 A.M.: In a distressing turn of events, the New York State Police have activated the New York State AMBER Alert following a child abduction near Moreau Lake State Park in Gansevoort.
At approximately 6:45 PM on September 30, 2023, 9-year-old Charlotte E. Sena, a white female, was taken from Loop A, Site 18. Charlotte is described as a young girl with long, blonde hair. She stands around 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 90 pounds. When last seen, Charlotte wore an orange tie-dye Pokemon shirt, dark blue pants, black crocs, and a gray bike helmet.
Authorities urge anyone who may have information regarding this abduction to promptly contact the New York State Police at (518) 457-6811. In case of an emergency or sighting, individuals are advised to dial 911. It's crucial not to share any tips or information pertaining to this case on social media platforms like Facebook.

New York State Troopers describe Sena a as white female who stands 5'1" and weighs 90 pounds. Sena has dirty blonde shoulder-length hair and at the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a tie-dye Pokémon shirt, blue pants, and black crocs.
