Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey will speak at Hamilton College in Clinton on Thursday, April 18, 2024, as part of the school's Sacerdote Great Names series.

According to Syracuse.com, McConaughey's lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. While the event is free and open to the public, tickets will be required, with more details regarding how the general public can get their hands on them to be posted on Hamilton's website sometime in February.

Known for his performance in various blockbuster movies such as "Dazed and Confused," "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," "The Lincoln Lawyer," "Magic Mike," and "The Wolf of Wall Street," McConaughey is a widely recognized figure in the entertainment industry. Apart from acting, the actor is also a renowned author, speaker, and philanthropist.

In addition to his work in entertainment, McConaughey co-founded the Just Keep Livin Foundation with his wife Camila Alves McConaughey, which focuses on promoting health and wellness among high school students in various cities in the United States.

As a professor of practice at the Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin, McConaughey also developed the course's curriculum, which delves deep into each film's production stages. Apart from teaching, he also serves as a Minister of Culture for the university's athletic department and even recently invested in the Austin FC Soccer Club.

By taking part in the Sacerdote Great Names series at Hamilton College, Matthew McConaughey will be joining other famous personalities such as former First Lady Hillary Clinton, journalist Tom Brokaw, actress Tina Fey, and musician Aretha Franklin, who have previously spoken at the event.
