Man Beaten at Upstate New York Store for Wearing Political Hat
A shocking incident occurred in a supermarket in the Village of Bath, New York, as a man was allegedly assaulted for wearing a pro-Trump hat.
The altercation, which unfolded in Tops Friendly Markets, led to the arrest of 60-year-old Robert Yott. Yott was charged with felony second-degree assault and misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief in connection with the brutal attack on a stranger who was sporting a Trump 2024 hat.
The Village of Bath Police Department revealed that the confrontation took place at approximately 10 a.m. last Friday, prompting officers to respond to the scene.
It was reported that Yott aggressively confronted the victim, leading to a physical altercation, during which the victim was punched multiple times in the head and mouth, resulting in broken teeth and a bloody mouth. The victim and the assailant were reported to be strangers, and the incident was categorized as a random act of violence.
Following the altercation, Yott was immediately taken into custody and subsequently transported to the Steuben County Jail, where he awaits arraignment.
