Lil Nas X has turned "Old Town Road" into a supremely creative, swagger-filled western movie with cameos from Chris Rock, Diplo and more that add a new dynamic to the wildly popular track.

In the mini-movie, Lil Nas X and duet partner Billy Ray Cyrus travel through time. The five-minute feature opens in 1889, as the rapper and country star fly through the wide open western landscape on horseback, Lil Nas X taking off solo with a bag full of money. He meets up with Cyrus at a random house where they plan to spend the night — but the owner doesn't welcome the strangers.

As shots are fired, Lil Nas X dives through a tunnel that's a portal to the modern world. The singer draws perplexed stares as he rides his horse through the streets of a city neighborhood before having a dance off in the street and winning a drag race on horseback against rapper and actor Vince Staples.

Lil Nas X then visits a countrified supermall, where he gets tricked out in a slick, custom-made suit with his name bedazzled on the back. Cyrus, also decked out in a suave, raspberry colored suit, pulls up in a Maserati, and the two head inside a vintage meeting hall, where a group of people also dressed in western garb are playing a round of bingo. The fearless twosome interrupt the game with a performance of the track, with Diplo playing the washboard while everyone in the room starts line dancing.

"Old Town Road" has been a dominant force in the music world, spending six weeks in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and topping multiple charts around the globe. The song launched a debate when it was kicked off the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in early 2019. The magazine stated that the song doesn't adhere to the genre, warranting a range of reactions: Brothers Osborne believe the attention should be shifted away from the controversy to deserving female artists, while Jake Owen has promised that a collaboration is in the works with the Atlanta-based singer-songwriter.
