National Night Out Returns to Johnson City With Free Food, Fun, and Family Activities
The Johnson City Neighborhood Project, in collaboration with the Johnson City Police Department and the Goodwill Theater, is proud to present JC National Night Out 2025, an event dedicated to strengthening community connections and building positive relationships between residents and local law enforcement.
This free, family-friendly evening will take place on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Schorr Family Firehouse Stage, located at 48 Willow Street in Johnson City.
The Story Behind National Night Out
National Night Out is a nationwide initiative that began in 1984 as a simple effort to support neighborhood watch programs. Originally, it encouraged residents to turn on their porch lights and spend time outside as a symbol of solidarity against crime.
Over the years, it has grown into a full scale community event observed across all 50 states, with millions of people participating each year. The goal remains the same: to promote public safety, foster community spirit, and create stronger partnerships between the public and law enforcement.
What to Expect at This Year’s Event
The Johnson City celebration will feature a wide range of activities for all ages. Attendees can enjoy free hot dogs provided by the Eagles Club, snacks, inflatable attractions for children, games, raffles, and various giveaways. Everything offered at the event is free of charge, making it a welcoming and inclusive evening for individuals and families throughout the community.
A Chance to Build Stronger Connections
More than just a night of entertainment, JC National Night Out provides an opportunity for meaningful engagement between community members and the officers who serve them. These personal connections help lay the foundation for trust, understanding, and a shared commitment to making Johnson City a safe place for all.
