Vestal Town Supervisor Candidates: Schaffer, Sexton and Wolf
The three candidates for town of Vestal supervisor discussed key issues on a radio call-in program as the election campaign drew to a close.
Incumbent supervisor John Schaffer is running on the Conservative party line this year after Maria Sexton defeated him for the Democratic party nomination in the June primary.
Schaffer is seeking his fourth four-year term as supervisor. He's being challenged by Sexton and Republican candidate Ted Wolf.
Schaffer's campaign website states he intends to "continue my passion, leadership and understanding of Town issues and concerns, and will insure the highest standards for Vestal..
In an online campaign message, Sexton states she has " a strong administrative background and extensive supervisory and field experience."
On his campaign website, Wolf said he would "govern with commons sense" and "ensure town assessments are fair and transparent."
Schaffer and Sexton called WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program on Friday to discuss some of the issues that have been brought up during the race for supervisor, including the town tax rate and transparency in local government. Wolf called the program on Friday to discuss campaign issues.
