Getting Lost in A Tioga County Corn Maze
From Bob's Notebook...
If you're looking for a brief break from all the noise and distractions of daily life, you might want to check out an eight-acre corn maze in Tioga County.
Stoughton Farm in Newark Valley has been providing the entertaining diversion for more than two decades.

Navigating the all-natural maze can be more fun in a group. It's become an annual tradition for me and about a half-dozen maze-loving friends.
We typically schedule a weekend visit right around 9 a.m. when the maze opens in order to avoid the crowds.

It's good to be flexible. The first date we chose this year turned out to be a dreary rainy day so we rescheduled for this past Sunday - when we were greeted by brilliant blue skies.
It was a chilly start with the air temperature right around freezing. But the bright sunshine warmed things up quickly.

After successfully making it out of the maze, we spent some time with the pumpkin blaster and the corn cannon.
There are plenty of other activities available for the kids on weekends.

Stoughton Farm also has a great shop featuring plenty of seasonal treats, including cold cider and fresh doughnuts.
There's plenty of information about the maze, the special attractions and the market on the Stoughton Farm website. The maze will operate through Sunday, November 1.
Stoughton Farm is located at 10898 State Route 38 in the town of Newark Valley.
