Craft Brewer to Close Owego Taproom
A craft beer producer based in the Finger Lakes region is planning to shut down a taproom it has operated in Tioga County.
Lucky Hare Brewing Company opened the site at 17 Lake Street in the village of Owego in May 2023. The taproom is located in the space that had been occupied by Farmhouse Brewery.
Lucky Hare recently announced it decision to close the Owego operation. The company has two other locations - a taproom in Hector and a restaurant in Watkins Glen.
The owners said they determined it would be best to focus on remodeling and expansion projects that are planned for the locations in Schuyler County.
The Lucky Hare taproom in Owego is scheduled to operate regular hours until the final day, next Wednesday.
There are no plans for a future use of the Lake Street storefront. The building is owned by Ike and Julie Lovelass, who operate The Owego Kitchen restaurant and Owego Donut & Beer Company.
Ike Lovelass said it's possible the building will be sold or the space may be leased for another business.
