In the other sentencing reported by the District Attorney’s Office, 36-year-old Jalil Ruiz Senior of Binghamton has been sentenced to serve two to four years in New York State prison after he pleaded guilty to the felony count of Burglary in the Third Degree.

Prosecutors say Ruiz broke into the Boost Mobile Store on Chenango Street in the City of Binghamton on November 26, 2021 and stole electronics.

Under New York State’s penal code, Third Degree Burglary carries sentencing requirements that range from one to 25 years in state prison.

District Attorney Korchak issued a statement in the news release stating: “Thuggery such as this is not tolerated in Broome County.  Law enforcement works hard to solve these cases and nothing less than state prison sentences are appropriate to protect our community.”
