Affordable Renovated Home in Binghamton Ready for New Owner
The Broome County Land Bank and First Ward Action Council have the keys ready for a new homeowner to move into the first renovated home of the year located in the City of Binghamton.
The groups have announced the completion of work at the single-family home at 33 Linden Street that is now available as an affordable homeownership opportunity for low to moderate income individuals and families.
The house was renovated with the help of grant money from the Land Bank’s New York State Attorney General Community Revitalization Initiative Program. That program is administered by the Enterprise Community Partners Incorporated.
The City of Binghamton also contributed $100,000 to assist in the completion of a series of affordable housing projects including the one unveiled on August 3.
This is the 4th affordable homeownership opportunity that has been partially funded through the Land Bank’s CRI Program.
Working with the First Ward Action Council’s Affordable Homes programs, the groups have completed and sold properties on Hayes Street, Park Avenue, and Gaylord Street. Are all single family homes that were sold in 2020 and 2021.
The latest property for sale on Linden Street is listed for $95,000.

Prior to rehabilitation, properties in the Land Bank program had be vacant homes that had been sliding into serious disrepair and hurt the values of surrounding properties in the neighborhood.
