The Southern Tier of New York is proud of our schools. We have great school districts that care about our kids and their education. And schools in the Triple Cities prove time and time again that preparing young people for their future is the number one priority.

There are many examples, but one that recently proves that point is from the Vestal Central School District. According to the school district,  U.S. News & World Report ranked over 17,000 public high schools in the country and determined Vestal High School as number one in the Binghamton NY Metro area.

According to U.S. News & World Report, "rankings are those whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes above expectations in math, reading and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores in an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions."

In addition, the Vestal Central School District notes that the high school students outscored students in all of New York State in last year's SAT exams by 44 points. Also, Vestal High School students scored 47 points above their peers in a national comparison. Add to that, the Vestal High School’s graduation rate is 97 percent, which is outstanding.

According to the U.S. News & World Report, for the Binghamton, NY Metro area, Windsor Central Schools ranked 2nd, followed by Maine-Endwell Senior High School, Owego Free Academy, and rounding out the top five, Union-Endicott High School. Congratulations to all those schools for high marks!
