What Southern Tier Attraction Have You Yet To Visit? Here’s What We Found Out
Isn't it funny? You know, there are places in our town that are popular or tourist destinations, that you as a resident, just have never bothered to check it out.
That would be me. I grew up in the Corning, New York area. Corning is known as the Glass Capital of the World. Corning Glass Works put the city on the map, and have helped shape the city into a tourist destination for visitors from around the world.
But, as famous as the Corning Museum of Glass is, I didn't visit this popular place until I was in my early 20s, and the Rockwell Museum which is also a popular museum for tourists in Corning, I have never visited.
With all that in mind, I posed the question on social media, 'What local attraction have you still never visited in the Southern Tier?' I wasn't sure if I'd get much of a response, but I did!
For example, Yvonne D. writes - Kopernik Observatory & Science Center. We've been meaning to visit but schedules never match up or something it's closed when I try to plan.
Yep, I have yet to visit Kopernik as well, but have been meaning to. Phyllis C. has never visited Watkins Glen State Park. I lived near that park as well during my younger years, and have only visited it twice.
What are some other places people of the Southern Tier have yet to visit? Well take a look at this list I received. These are all great places to visit, so if you haven't, I recommend you check them out. They are all a huge part of what our community is all about.
