Daddy would you like some sausage??

If you like to put your bum on things (it's fun for everyone), the Foothills Performing Arts Center has a show coming up just for you. That's right, comedy legend and Gen X icon Tom Green is coming to Oneonta in December. All local lonely Swedish should most definitely take note.

Tom Green is a Canadian comedian, actor, filmmaker, and talk show host known for his unconventional and often surreal style of comedy. He gained widespread attention in the late 1990s with The Tom Green Show, which aired on MTV. The show, which started as a public access program in Canada, became a cult hit thanks to Green's absurd pranks, irreverent humor, and unpredictable antics. His humor often pushed boundaries, blending shock value with surrealism, making him a polarizing figure in comedy.

Green's comedy style was ahead of its time, influencing a generation of comedians who followed, particularly in the realm of reality TV and online prank culture. He’s recognized for his absurdist sketches, such as "The Bum Bum Song" and notorious stunts like painting his parents’ house or placing a cow's head in their bed.

Beyond comedy, Tom Green ventured into film, starring in the controversial 2001 movie Freddy Got Fingered. Though critically panned, it has since developed a cult following. Green was also briefly married to actress Drew Barrymore, gaining additional media attention during that time.

In later years, Green focused on more serious creative pursuits, including stand-up comedy, podcasting, and environmental advocacy. He hosted Tom Green's House Tonight, a web-based talk show, which showcased a more subdued version of his earlier chaotic style. His career is notable for blending counterculture humor with mainstream success, leaving a lasting imprint on the comedy landscape.
