Two Bills Players Among Top 50 Highest-Paid Athletes in World

There's no secret that professional athletes these days make a lot of money. However, many fans might not be aware that it really depends on the sport for how much a given athlete makes, along with how good and valuable they are to their team, of course.

For instance, NHL players make a ton of money compared to you or or me, but the top-paid NHL athlete makes around $16 million annually (Connor McDavid), vs. the top paid NFL player who makes $50 annually (Aaron Rodgers).

The National Football League is the most popular sport in the United States and to be honest, it's by a wide margin. Second is the NBA, followed by the MLB and then the NHL -- although the NHL is hugely popular depending on location.

But who are the top-paid athletes in the world right now?

Forbes recently released the 50 top-paid professional athletes in the world and two Buffalo Bills players made the list.

Both Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs made the list.

Allen came in at number 16 with a total of $67 million in total earnings this past year. $4 million came from off-the-field earnings.

Diggs came in at number 45 with a total of $38.7 million in total earnings. $2.5 million came from off-the-field earnings.

Who is number one?

That would be Lionel Messi, who had a whopping $130 million in total earnings. LeBron James came in at number two with $121.2 million and Tom Brady was at number nine with $83.9 million.

The list factored in both money earned from playing their respective sport and off-field earnings, such as endorsements.
