Downtown Binghamton transformed into a Winter Wonderland last night on Gorgeous Washington Street. When I first moved to the area I knew I wanted to be in the middle of the action, so Washington Street was the obvious choice.

Last night was the first annual Ivory Christmas: A Downtown Binghamton Holiday Celebration and it was a great time. I got to sit outside my apartment and listen to a whole bunch of live music all while enjoying the holiday spirit.

There were four pianos all along Washington Street blasting all my favorite holiday tunes. There were guitar players, wind ensembles, even a man playing a drum instrument I have never seen but was super cool.

Vendors had their items on display and there was and abundance of free candy canes. Attendees could actually decorate the Christmas trees that lined the street with their own ornaments. I took a stroll down the street this morning and there was so many unique and awesome decorations people had left.

Strange Brew was one of the more popular spots last night as they unveiled some creative hot chocolate flavors. Peanut butter cup, peppermint, and salted caramel flavors were introduced and are available for the rest of the month.

These events are things I love to see in the revitalized Downtown Binghamton. The sense of community and holiday spirit were abundant and the community showed up in droves to support this event. The organizers and everyone who had a hand in this event did an amazing job. This is an event you CAN’T miss next year!
