Time is Running Out: Gus Macker Team Registration Deadline Is Here

The Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament in Norwich is back and they are in need of teams, officials and volunteers. The tournament is July 12th and 13th and you only have a few days left to get your team into this year's tournament.

The Macker is a 3-on-3 outdoor basketball tournament hosted by the Norwich Family YMCA as an event to bring the community together and to help the Norwich YMCA at the same time. Participants of all ages can play and there are male and female teams.

 Team Registration Deadline For Gus Macker is Running Out

The age groups are: Under 8, under 10, 11 to12, 13 to14,15 to16, 17 to18,19 to 25, 26 to 29, and 30 plus. The registration deadline to get your team in is Friday, June 20th, and your mail-in deadline is Monday, June 23rd.

You can pick up team application forms at the Norwich YMCA. If you want to mail it in, complete the entry form and return it with your Team Entry Fee ($180) to: Gus Macker, 107 E. Main Street, Suite 3, Belding MI 48809. At this point, it might be easier to register online.

There are three divisions: Junior Divisions (18 years of age and below), Adult Divisions (19 years of age and above), and Top Divisions (Most experienced level of play). If you've never participated or attended the Macker, then you are missing a fantastic event.

They also need volunteers, scorekeepers and basketball officials for the event. If you're a new official, this is the PERFECT event to get your feet wet, while getting some experience in a fun atmosphere.

I've been a basketball official at the Macker for the past several years and wish that I had started sooner. You'll meet new people, and make some friends while doing it. It really is as fun as it looks.
