He had one of the most influential and recognized voice of the Country Rebel movement, check out a few of country’s best paying tribute to the men we knew as Waylon.

Waylon Jennings was one a unique performer, I actually saw him here in Binghamton back in the early 70’s in the West Junior High School Auditorium along with Tex Ritter and many other old time country stars, Waylon had short hair and was wearing a suit.

Waylon’s early days soon changed when he grew out his hair and sang about what was on his mind, basically raising Hell with some great guitar licks and song lyrics.

We lost Waylon in 2002, but his music lives on through his recordings and other musicians and performers who pay tribute to him.

This past April CMT hosted an evening of country music performers with a tribute called Outlaw: Celebrating the Music of Waylon Jennings.

Here are a few highlights from the evening and Toby Keith paying tribute to the Hag on the Grand Ole Opry  part of  my ‘Got Ya Covered’ video of the week
