The Taste of Country Music Festival 2016 kicks off tonight at Hunter Mountain and our friend Frankie Ballard will be one of the Saturday performers. As a matter of fact, he'll take the stage right before Kenny Chesney does.

High school is almost done for the summer and anyone who's gone to high school can tell you that they've looked back and had regrets. Frankie Ballard was asked what his biggest high school regrets were and he told Country Vibe that he wishes he'd been more involved in theater and music.

He also said, “There was this thing called the Spartanaires at my high school it was like a traveling musical group, and unfortunately I was a baseball player. I was a jock, and there was no cross-contamination.”

Despite not getting involved in other activities that he really wanted to be part of in high school, we'd say that Frankie turned out pretty well. He's level headed and humble and understands that hard work pays off.

As a matter of fact, take a look at Frankie's schedule for the next few days and you'll understand what we mean by hard work. But, he doesn't complain.

When he was at our Toyota Country Lights Festival last year, Frankie told us that he still can't believe that he gets to wake up every day and live his dream and that he's not going to get lazy or sloppy.
