Shirley "Kitty" Bocock, who served as general manager of Binghamton radio stations WNBF and WHWK for several years, has died. She was 86.

Bocock died October 23 at her home in Huntington, West Virginia.

Kitty Bocock was a vice president of Stoner Broadcasting and managed the company's radio stations in Binghamton in the late 1970s into the mid 1980s. She oversaw the transformation of WQYT with its "beautiful music" format into WHWK with a modern country format in 1984.

Bocock later worked in other radio station management positions in Buffalo and Hilton Head, South Carolina. Although she had retired, she returned to the radio business working for a radio station group in Huntington.

Bocock was inducted into the West Virginia Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2013.
