With a lot of misinformation floating around social media, in regards to the COVID-19 virus, Facebook has took action against it.

According to WIVB, Facebook will now be sent notifications if they have liked, reacted or commented on on false or even dangerous claims about coronavirus, after the post has been removed by moderators.

Users will also be directed to the World Health Organization (WHO), debunking myths regarding COVID-19.

“We want to connect people who may have interacted with harmful misinformation about the virus with the truth from authoritative sources in case they see or hear these claims again off of Facebook,” the company’s VP of Integrity, Guy Rosen, said in a blog post.

The procedure will be rolled out in the next few weeks, according to Facebook.
