Additional Information

Steve (S. Hunter) Smith, a 1983 Johnson City High School graduate and recently published author of Bullied Nearly to Death: Loving My Life, announces his first book signing in his former hometown of Johnson City, NY. Your Home Public Library, 107 Main Street, Johnson City, NY 13790 will host the “meet and greet” and book signing event on April 20, 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. His book is available in paperback on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com and also as an eBook through B&N Nook, Amazon Kindle, Apple iTunes, and Google Play Books. A limited number of paperback copies will be available at the event.
S. Hunter Smith’s book takes the reader on a journey into the mind of a victim of relentless bullying and the four times he attempted suicide because of the bullying. His autobiography also includes much loved stories and history about the Triple Cities area and many memories of people from this region who helped Mr. Smith find peace and understanding in his own life. After years of reflection and study, S. Hunter Smith has become an advocate for bullying and suicide awareness and prevention. He hopes that, by sharing his story, accessibility to mental health care will improve and people who need help will be more comfortable reaching out, knowing they are not alone.
S. Hunter Smith has testified in Annapolis, MD on anti-bullying legislation, spoken at many public events in the mid-Atlantic area on the subjects of bullying and suicide awareness and prevention, and is the subject of a recent Patch.com story.
