Village of Endicott Police say they are looking for a suspect in the armed robbery of a Washington Avenue store and the attempted robbery of a North Street smoke shop, both on January 7.

According to a police news release, authorities were called to the Harash Stop and Shop at 109 Washington Avenue at around 10:20 p.m. for a report of a Black man entering the store and displaying what appeared to be a handgun.  The suspect, described as being in his late teens or early twenties, of muscular build, standing around 6' 0" tall and wearing  a white tee-shirt, green long-sleeved shirt, compression sleeves and dark colored pants and shoes, fled south on Washington Avenue before police arrived.

There were no injuries and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

Less than three-and-a-half hours prior to the Stop and Shop robbery, at around 7 p.m., a man with a similar description had entered Al's Smoke Shop at 704 North Street in the village and displayed a handgun but fled empty-handed.

The suspect in the first incident was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with white markings on the left sleeve.
