Authorities say a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street on Endicott's North Side has died as a result of his injuries.

According to village police, 59 year old Richard Gormandy had been critically injured when he was hit by the car around 1:55 p.m. on June 9.

CPR was performed on Gormandy at the scene on North McKinley Avenue near Watson Boulevard before he was transported to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City. He died the following day.

Authorities said the man had been hit by a 2016 Acura Sedan as the car was leaving the parking lot of the Apple Foods store. They told WNBF News the vehicle was driven by 35-year-old Lauren Herndon of Binghamton.

Police said no charges have been filed in connection with the incident but their investigation is continuing.
