Tuesday, November 4th is Election Day and if you're a registered voter there are a number of important races this year.

Voting is your right as an American citizen and I encourage everyone 18 and older to exercise that right. If you're not registered for this year's election, please sign up with your local election board, so that you can participate in the future.

Familiarize yourself with the campaigns of the candidates and choose the ones that stand for what you believe in.

The polls in New York State are open today from 6am to 9pm.

The Governor seat of New York State is one of these most important this year with incumbent Democrat, Andrew Cuomo running against Republican, Rob Astorino.

The senate race for the 52nd district, which has Republican Thomas W. Libous against former Town of Vestal Supervisor, Democratic Andrea Starzak.

Broome County Sheriff is also on the ballot, as well as several legislative and city council seats, justices and trustees. In addition there are three seats for Binghamton City Court Judge and two for family court Judge.
