1924 was a big year. New York City hosted the first Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. J. Edgar Hoover was appointed as the head of the Bureau of Investigation, later called the FBI. The Summer Olympics, also known as the Games of the VIII Olympiad, officially opened in Paris, France and on August 6, 1924, a baby boy named Les was born.

While J. Edgar Hoover is long gone, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is still going strong, the 2024 Summer Olympics will again take place in Paris, and that baby boy named Les is about to celebrate a huge life milestone – his 100th birthday!
