Celebrating a Century: Card Collection for Vestal Resident Turning 100
1924 was a big year. New York City hosted the first Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. J. Edgar Hoover was appointed as the head of the Bureau of Investigation, later called the FBI. The Summer Olympics, also known as the Games of the VIII Olympiad, officially opened in Paris, France and on August 6, 1924, a baby boy named Les was born.
While J. Edgar Hoover is long gone, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is still going strong, the 2024 Summer Olympics will again take place in Paris, and that baby boy named Les is about to celebrate a huge life milestone – his 100th birthday!
It's not every day a person has the opportunity to see their 100th birthday but Les, a resident at Elderwood Village at Vestal is about to! A birthday of this magnitude warrants an extra special celebration, and our community has a wonderful opportunity to make it truly memorable.
If you would like to be part of Les’s big day, all you need to do is take a moment to write a heartfelt birthday card addressed to Les and send it before August 5 to: Elderwood Village at Vestal at 505 Clubhouse Road, Vestal, N.Y. 13850. These cards will be carefully collected and presented to Les on August 6th, his birthday.
Just think about the joy on Les's face as he reads through each thoughtful message from our wonderful community. Whether you want to include a funny anecdote or a sincere expression of care, your birthday card will be a treasured part of Les's unforgettable 100th birthday celebration.

Be sure to send your card to Elderwood Village at Vestal before August 5, 2024, so that Les will receive it in time for his special day.
