Delaware County Invites Veterans for Historic 250th Photo in Delhi
Delaware County is preparing to honor the people who have served our country as part of America’s 250th birthday celebration, and local veterans are invited to join.
On Saturday, October 10, at 11 a.m., veterans from across the county will gather in Delhi for a commemorative group photo in front of the Soldiers Monument at Courthouse Square.
A Keepsake for Delaware County Veterans
This is more than just a quick picture. Delaware County officials say the photos will serve as a keepsake recognizing veterans who served during times of peace and war.
Each participating veterans organization will receive its own group photo, along with a larger photo including everyone who attends.
Every Delaware County Veteran Is Invited
You don't need to belong to a veterans organization to take part. The invitation includes members of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Riders, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as any Delaware County veteran not affiliated with an organization.
Each veteran who attends will also receive a commemorative coin created for Delaware County’s America 250 celebration.
If it rains, the gathering will move indoors to the Delhi American Legion Post at 41 Page Avenue.

How to Get More Information
Veterans who plan to attend or have questions can email American Legion Commander Patricia Svoboda at alnypost216@gmail.com or the Delaware County Veterans Service Agency at vet@delcony.gov. Read Delaware County’s full announcement here.
