Sweet Surprise? Could Crumbl Cookies Be Coming To Vestal?
Something sweet may be heading to the Vestal Parkway, though nothing is officially confirmed just yet.
According to a recent social media post by WICZ's Mark Tarello, a building permit was spotted taped to the window of the old Pier One Imports building. The permit, issued to Vestal Shoppes LLC, allows the creation of three tenant spaces inside the former store. The paperwork specifically lists “Crumbl Cookie, Tropical Smoothie, and (1) Empty Space” as tenants.
A Permit, but No Confirmation
The permit, stamped by Samuel Robert Estes on June 10, 2025, also notes that any interior improvements for the tenants would require separate permits. For now, the document is the only clue, there hasn’t been an official announcement from Crumbl Cookies or the property owners confirming the move.
A Cookie Craze Sweeping the Nation
If the buzz turns out to be true, Vestal residents may soon be welcoming one of the most talked about dessert chains in the country. Crumbl Cookies, founded in 2017 by cousins Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley in Utah, has become famous for its oversized gourmet cookies and its viral social media marketing.
From its open concept kitchens to its everchanging weekly rotating menu, the chain has built a cult following. Customers flock to try unique flavors that change each week, all while the company entertains millions of TikTok and Instagram followers with cookie reveals and behind the scenes baking videos.
Today, Crumbl boasts more than 1,000 locations across the United States and Canada, making it one of the fastest growing dessert franchises in history.

What It Could Mean for Vestal
If the permit is any indication, Vestal Parkway could soon see a new wave of cookie lovers lining up outside the old Pier One building. But until an official statement is made, it’s just speculation. For now, locals will have to keep their eyes open for a “coming soon” sign to see if Crumbl’s famous pink boxes will really be joining the neighborhood.
