United Health Services’ laboratory has done over 34,000 in-house tests in the past eight months according to information released by the credit union.

UHS has also collected 21,000 tests recently to be sent to external reference labs.

Instead of the hours and sometimes days it took for tests to come back during the early days of the pandemic, new developments are allowing results to come in within an hour in some cases.

Visons, in allotting the grant, notes UHS originally didn’t plan in its 2020 budgeting for the expenses it would face in implementing testing for a global pandemic.
