Exciting Fall Activities Await Broome County Veterans and Their Families
The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County (CCE) is extending a welcome to local veterans and their families to participate in a variety of free hands-on fall activities.
From creative workshops to coupon distribution events, the activities offered hope to bring veterans and their families together to enjoy the beauty of the season. There are several activities offered free to veterans and their families.
All the activities organized by CCE are free for Broome County veterans and their families and are made possible through the Broome County Division of Veterans Services. To participate in any of the activities, registration is required, which can be done here.
From unleashing creative talents in the Garden Crafts Workshop to enjoying the benefits of coupon distribution at the Windsor Farmers Market, these are the free events being offered to area veterans in October.
Garden Crafts Workshop
On October 11th at 5:30 pm, Horticulturalist Linda Svoboda will lead ae Garden Crafts Workshop. Veterans and their families will learn how to transform everyday plants and garden items into fall crafts. Participants will be able to take home their creations.
Windsor Farmers Market
On October 14th, Broome County veterans are invited to join the Windsor Farmers Market for a special Coupon Distribution event. From 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., veterans attending the market will receive $15 worth of coupons that can be used to purchase a variety of goods from participating vendors with no purchase necessary.
Canning with Ann
For those interested in preserving meats, the Canning with Ann: Preserving Meats workshop on October 18th at 5:30 pm will be held at the Broome County Regional Farmers Market. Veterans and their families will learn the correct methods for preserving meats.
