Claverack Customers in NEPA May Be Without Power for Days
Crews from various Pennsylvania cooperatives are on their way to Northeast Pennsylvania to help restore power to Claverack members after heavy, wet snow.
Claverack urges all members to prepare for a multi-day outage, especially those with medical conditions.
The recent heavy snowfall has resulted in a significant number of outages across the Claverack service territory. Eager to address the situation promptly, crews have been mobilized to restore power in a timely and safe manner. However, it is important to note that no estimated times for restoration in specific areas are available at this juncture. With this in mind, all members are advised to brace themselves for the possibility of a multi-day outage.
Unfortunately, specific estimated times for restoration in affected areas are currently unavailable. More detailed information will be provided once crews can conduct a more thorough assessment of the damage later today.
If you're a Claverack customer experiencing an outage, call 570-265-2167 or use SmartHub for reporting. Please do not report your outage through Facebook or email.
Claverack customers can also sign up on SmartHub to receive notifications on reported outages affecting their account, updates on the outage, and an alert when power is restored
Keep in mind that it is important to maintain a distance of at least 50 feet from any downed lines and never attempt to remove trees from any type of lines. It is also important to use generators properly and never connect them directly to your home’s wiring without a transfer switch installed by a qualified electrician.
