A few years back I had a conversation with a local dairy princess at one of my Hawk road shows.  This teen was proudly representing Broome County and one of her tasks was to visit Southern Tier schools and educate students on local agriculture and the great impact that it has on everyday life.

She (and I) could not believe the number of young people that has no idea where produce and dairy foods come from.  In all seriousness, there are some young people that think it all comes from a grocery store and have no idea that it originates from a farm. Wow.  Scary.

Norwich is where education meets fun.  This Saturday, families have a chance to be a part of a fun-filled day celebrating local agriculture with Chenango County Dairy Day at the Chenango County Fairgrounds, 168 East Main Street in Norwich beginning at 9am.

The day's activities include a 5K 'Milk Run', a parade, the ZooMobile from the Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park, Face Painting, a Duck Derby, a Hay Bale Maze and much much more!

Milk Run starts at 9am (signup at 8:30), parade at 10:30am and various activities at the Chenango County Fairgrounds throughout the day.
